Hi, I’m Cassie Kees. I grew up on a dairy farm in Mondovi, WI, the largest city in Buffalo County, as well as the home of the Buffalo County Fair! I joined the Lucky 16 4-H Club when I was in kindergarten, starting as a Cloverbud, and continued being an active member until I was 19 years old. Throughout the years, I entered exhibits in several categories including Photography, Cultural Arts, and Foods and Nutrition. I also showed Dairy, Swine, and Equine. I enjoyed every minute of being a part of the Buffalo County 4-H program learning an endless amount of useful information and resources throughout my years.
I am now a junior at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse, where I plan on graduating in May 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a minor in At-Risk Child and Youth Cares, and an emphasis in Gerontology. On campus I am an active member in the Advocates for Children Club and Psychology Club, where I am currently the Treasurer. This spring I am being inducted into the Psi Chi Honors Program as well as becoming the Psi Chi/Psychology Club President for the 2017-2018 school year!
I am beyond excited to begin my journey as the Youth Development Intern this summer! I am looking forward to learning and growing from my experiences working with my future coworkers and students. Additionally, I am eager to incorporate new and exciting activities into the summer programs that the UW-Extension program offers, as well as having a fun and productive summer overall!
I am Rachel Hovey, a 2016 graduate of Gilmanton High School. I have been an active member of the Lookout Legends 4-H Club and have participated in the Buffalo County Fair for the past eleven years. During that time, I also served as a junior fair director on the Buffalo County Fair Association for two years. I also educated youth as an Ag Innovator Leader doing the water windmill challenge. I am currently a freshman at UW-River Falls majoring in elementary education with a minor in early childhood education. I am excited to see the behind-the-scenes workings of the fair and assist 4-H and FFA members and their families. I look forward to a summer filled with new experiences by helping others!
