Volunteer in Preparation (VIP) Training

4-H Volunteers who are enrolled or are planning to become a certified 4-H Volunteer are encouraged to attend the VIP training.  This is an important step to becoming a certified 4-H Volunteer and may be the last one offered in the 2016-2017 4-H year.  Make plans to attend!

 

 

Volunteer in Preparation training is designed for volunteers who are committed to the learning and skill development necessary to be an enrolled 4-H volunteer. Enrolled volunteers can serve as 4-H leaders, chaperones or work directly with youth. Volunteer in Preparation (VIP) training was formerly called volunteer or leader orientation. VIP

TRAINING OBJECTIVES:

  • To learn about UW-Extension and Buffalo County 4-H.
  • To increase understanding of volunteer roles and responsibilities. To understand UW-Extension’s policy on Reporting Child abuse and Neglect and your role as a volunteer.
  • To identify best practices for creating a safe learning environment for youth and adults.
  • To discuss and increase your understanding of 4-H Youth Development and how we teach young people.
