Youth for Quality Care of Animals Education Readys Exhibitors for Raising Fair Swine, Beef and more

On March 19 at Cochrane-Fountain City School, Carl Duley, Buffalo County UW-Extension Ag Agent, instructed youth in a new national program called Youth for the Quality Care of Animals. 4-H and FFA members who plan to show an animal, including swine, beef, dairy, sheep, goats, rabbits and poultry, at the Buffalo County Fair in 2018 are required to take this couse. The purpose of the course is to ensure safe handling of animals and that ultimately a quality meat or dairy product reaches consumers. Another session will take place March 27 in Mondovi. Exhibitors also have the option of taking the course online.
